Together We Rise Conference Update | August 25, 2021

Dear MothersEsquire community members, sponsors, and friends:

We are deeply saddened to share that we are postponing the MothersEsquire Together We Rise conference

Our primary goal with this conference has always been to create a powerful in-person community-building experience for our members, who as mother lawyers, are familiar with navigating what risks we’re willing to take with our own health and the health and safety of our children and families.

While waiting for the fall to host our conference seemed like the most prudent path forward just a few months ago, the sad reality today is that Kentucky’s COVID-19 public health situation is  approaching a “critical stage.”

According to Governor Andy Beshear this past Monday, “in Kentucky, there are more people with COVID-19 hospitalized, filling intensive care unit beds, and relying on ventilators to breathe than at any time during the pandemic.”

Even with our vaccine and mask requirement in place for conference attendees, we no longer feel it is morally or ethically responsible to encourage our nationwide membership to descend upon a city where a routine trip to the ER could become catastrophic.

Our top priority has always been to make Together We Rise a rejuvenating, fun, and comfortable space to connect with fellow attorney moms, and the public health crisis in Louisville is no longer the backdrop upon which such an environment can be created.

So what happens now?

  • We’ll announce a spring 2022 date for the rescheduled conference within a week.

  • All current registrants are encouraged to wait until then to decide whether they’d like to transfer their registration to our new date, or request a full and immediate refund.

  • We encourage our existing sponsors, vendors, and speakers to stick with us through this challenging time in anticipation of the even more robust conference that we will be able to create together this coming spring, and would love to explore virtual partnerships we might pursue together in the meantime.

This is far from where we thought we would be by now in fighting back against this deadly virus, and we share your disappointment and frustration.

This was not an easy decision to come to, and we ask for your continued patience, understanding, and flexibility as we proceed in finding the best path forward in bringing this event to life in as safe and responsible a manner as possible.

Sincerely,

Michelle Coughlin, President & Founder
